Town Profile |
 |
A village of just under twenty thousand residents, South Orange
has a history that dates back to 1869. An area still light by
historic gas lights today, here you'll find varied architecture
from elegant English cottages to modern condo complexes.
Because the village is an easy commute from New York City, many
residents work in the city and live in South Orange.
The village itself features a number of unique amenities
including a library that houses nearly seventy thousand volumes,
an Olympic sized public swimming pool, and a 415 seat theatre.
The area also plays home to Seton Hall University.
The local school district serves both the South Orange community
and the adjacent town of Maplewood. With an enrollment of nearly
eight thousand, there are six elementary schools, two middle
schools, and one high school. There are also two highly coveted
private schools in the area.
With extensive park space, an excellent school system, and
abundant housing opportunities, South Orange is the ideal
community.
